Hello CFTIRC Community,

We are recruiting a Blockchain Research Engineer and a Blockchain Project Manager on a permanent basis

Created in 2012, SystemX, the only French Technological Research Institute (IRT) dedicated to the digital engineering of systems of the future,

responds to the scientific challenges of industry and territories, through flexible, open and collective applied research.

Its operation is based on the setting up of R&D projects bringing together industrial players (large groups, SMEs and start-ups) and academics.

In France, the institute has already launched more than 30 multi-partner projects bringing together 83 industrial partners and 24 academic laboratories.

Within the R&T Blockchain team, the functional and technical architect is part of a project team made up of engineer-researchers, industrial and academic researchers, post-docs and doctoral students. He reports hierarchically to the team manager and operationally to the Project Manager.

The functional and technical architect is responsible for defining the operational, functional and technical architecture with the partners in the different phases of the project:

Project construction:
  • Evaluate the needs and use cases of the project, identify scientific obstacles and industrial challenges, establish a scientific and technological state of the art, describe the activities of the project and its organization in tasks and deliverables;
  • Build the preliminary architecture of the project and identify the technological obstacles.
Development and promotion:

• Define use cases with industrial partners and design the functional architecture as well as the data structuring of the solution to be built;
• Contribute, if necessary in coordination with a software architect, to the development of a logical and physical implementation architecture;
• Coordinate the various skills carriers of the project team in the realization of the proof of concepts of the solution;
• Take charge of part of the production activities in their area of ​​expertise;
• Contribute to the integration into the technological platform (s) of business use cases and technological building blocks developed within the framework of the project;
• Provide technical support to the project team: engineer-researchers, resources made available, interns and doctoral students;
• Identify and implement actions to enhance the results of the project, in line with the expectations of industrial and academic partners.

In addition, the architect's mission is part of the Institute's general role of engineer-researcher with a scientific and technical profile:

• Contribute to the roadmap of the Blockchain domain:

- ensure a technological watch to guarantee the level of competence of the field
- contribute to the definition of a scientific and technological “Blockchain” roadmap adapted to the needs of project teams: what / how by promoting the pooling and emergence of high impact assets;
- take charge of part of the development plan provided for under this roadmap, in its area of ​​expertise;

• Contribute to the influence and development of the Institute's activities:

- directly or indirectly through its contributions and participation in external events, demonstrations, technological working groups, Open Source communities, etc.
- by publications of works, communications of the White Paper type, including technical reviews

The position is based in Lyon Ou aris but travel is expected in the Ile de France region.

PROFILE

PHD Blockchain Cryptography training or with a first experience and scientific references (publication)

  Knowledge of Blockchain concepts and technologies would be appreciated.

Essential knowledge and know-how:

• Methods for collecting the requirements and defining operational architecture (SysML, UML, Persona, etc.);
• Definition and modeling of functional architecture;
• Mastery of software architectures (3-tier, 4 + 1);
• Knowledge of network architectures, information systems and data processing (cloud, virtualization, Big Data);
• Notion of cryptography and cyber security (eg SSL / TLS, OAuth, UMA, SSO, SHA, symmetric / asymmetric encryption, etc.)
• Knowledge of the operation, applications and challenges of the Blockchain is a plus
• Knowledge of programming languages ​​including Java, JavaScript, Python, C ++, Go, Rust;
• Skills in programming and database management (eg Postgres, MySQL, Cassandra, MongoDB, Redis, etc.) and Blockchain technologies (eg Ethereum, Hyperledger Fabric);
• Experience in Agile development methodology (Scrum, Kanban, DevOps)
• Monitoring and control: monitoring indicators, conduct of meetings, drafting of reports.

Desirable experiences, among the following fields or sectors:

• Information Technologies, Web application environment, development of community platforms,
• R&D, Innovation, publisher of PAAS / SAAS software platforms.

Professional skills :

• Curiosity, spirit of initiative, capacity for listening, analysis and rigor;
• Adaptability and autonomy;
• Sense of management, coordination and project organizations;
• Ability to work in project mode: monitoring and progress of work, promotion and communication of results,
• Good interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team, very good oral and written communication (in French and English).
